I find AI discourse more annoying than crypto discourse because at least with AI there are some (niche) use cases that will increase 1% of the population's productivity by 10%, so when you say it's massively overhyped there's always some guy who can pop out to say it lets him write code a little bit faster, as if that justifies the whole thing.

I said we keep kneecapping them as in they're actually measurably worse compared to before for most. GPT 3.5 used to give me answers for books and was fairly accurate to the text despite it's obscurity (criminal justice textbook rev from like 2013) and could do math decently and give steps.
Now it literally makes shit up or tells me to use SOMETHING ELSE

the good version still exists but it's expensive to run so most queries get sent to the smaller shittier model they rolled out. you can add verbosity to your queries to increase your chances of getting the good version.
