Looking at the Google Jeetphone 9, when did phones stop getting better?

Feels like phones haven't gotten better in at least 10 years.

I purchased smartphones in: 2013, 2017, 2021, and 2024

There were substantial advances between 2013 and 2017, not much since then.

The last jeetdroid I had had a 3.5mm jack, a microsd slot, a sim slot, and a replaceable battery. All that's gone now.

Phones are so big now they should be able to fit all those features every time plus maybe some pinwheels.

It literally never happens lol

It's unfortunate that zoomers are so used to purposefully terrible engineering they immediately assume the worst when they see something they don't know

I don't need to trust them, I've had half a dozen phones like this. I've literally neevr seen it come off on its own. It's been working for decades.

:marseyconfused: If you're only replacing the battery once it wears out, then you're opening the back maybe once a year tops

I got a OnePlus; aside from the replaceable battery (but it's got a huge one to compensate) it's got all of those.

The downside is that I wiped it to firmware to get rid of the chinese spy stuff, and installed a clean boot of android so if you're not comf with bootloaders and flashing its not the route for you.
