After 27 years of providing in-depth coverage of the amazing world of PC and mobile hardware, AnandTech is saying farewell. We want to thank everyone from the AnandTech community for their support and passion for what we’ve done over the yearshttps://t.co/3EGh4FJguE

AnandTech shuts down after 27 years ☹️ Anand built a legendary site for covering the inner workings of computers. It’ll be sorely missed 🫡 https://t.co/BLanCnjptl

The end of an era. @anandtech, started in 1997 by a then 14-year-old @anandshimpi, is closing its doors after 27 years. I worked there for 11 years and learned my craft. Here's my video on it. It gets a little emotional.https://t.co/KbQxDggfST pic.twitter.com/546ozCweEf

Mention of AnandTech still brings back memories of the early GPU days for me. https://t.co/WGC2MWhp2l

Really is end of an era.
Indepth articles on computer is not going to sell as well as AI generated incite slop for clicks

I would blame it more on the fact that hardware has gotten so good that games aren't keeping up with it. Like the one I'm using now, for the first time I got a pre-built one because it's going to be at least several years before I have any reason to need a faster video card or more memory. If all the hardware out there is good enough for what you want to do then you don't need to spend a lot of time comparing it to find the best one.

It's just so fricking annoying to read all the "at least we have techjesuserino our hecking savior!!!"
Their benchmark suite is laughable, up until half a year ago like 3/4 of the games they benched were from 2010's, their "productivity" sucks too
And their shitty jokes that just bloat the video are much more like LTT
Their cooler and case review are good, those are about the only things they seem passionate about these days

That's because all of the 2020s games are DOA

He's been the best source on YouTube on the Intel crisis and Asus's shit return policies. He does the shit that much bigger operations like LTT should but don't do. IDK what you're watching but his CPU/GPU reviews are usually pretty dry and most people complain that they're just a bunch of benchmarks with a minute or so of him shilling merch/sponsors; I can't think of a single in-joke that they have. I watch everything with skip-silence on anyway, so whatever.

Not really tho, 4060Ti review is about the last one I watched
Like 3 minutes in the intro, from 2nd to 5th minute, are spent yapping about 1060, resolutions, DLSS, their own news story. Worthless padding and yapping, where's muh technical deep dive and shit?
7:14 - long drawn out joke about how there's little gen on gen improvement. What could be one sentence is almost a minute
14:50 - 40 second to setup a joke that 4060Ti is a 144p GPU
None of this is funny, insightful, informative. It's just Nvidia bad so Youtube watching mouthbreathers can clap their hands.
"Thanks Steve, back to you Steve!"
"The more you buy the more you save!"
Probably more, I don't watch enough these days
Uhm even if you're right, I don't care, so whatever
Like just skim through TechPowerUp or Computerbase, they have like 5 times the amount of games (and a geomean if that's all you want), all the power consumption, frequency scaling, overclocking measurements you might want, and you can get all the info in text in 1/3 of the time it takes to watch a Gay Nexus review.
Like I said their cooler and case reviews are fine, if still too long with too much useless yapping, and while they're definitely dramachasing, yeah they do have some positive impact when going after companies - but tbf I don't really care about watching any of those videos, the issues they cover basically never affect me.
