Nobody used TG's actual E2EE feature, and the before wording doesn't indicate that channels are encrypted. "We do not process any request related to them" isn't the same as "We cannot process any request related to them". "Private amongst their participants" can mean anything. Honestly I've always been really confused why anyone trusted TG to begin with, obfuscating actual E2EE chat functionality was enough to make me think that they glowed.

Idk why people didn't just use Tox instead. It's actually encrypted, requires no account, is peer to peer and can be used from behind tor.
