This seems more like an antipiracy thing tbh. You can still sideload apps, use alternate stores, etc. but if a developer only makes their app available through the Play store, you can't download an APK of it and sideload it. Kinda gay and I assume there will be workarounds but it's not like they've murdered F-Droid or anything.
