I want to be a scientist but the market is tough so I'm depressed. Every job i look at either is either an internship-job pipeline for undergrads or requires a PHD or an MS with 8 years of industry experience at a top 3 biomed company (places are actually specifying a top 3 or top 5 company now).

IMO getting a masters before 25 was a massive fricking mistake. Everyone will clap at you for being so smart to do that when no job wants someone that young and inexperienced. There is basically no scholarships or financial aid since you are expected to be a career adult. I don't have enough job experience despite having an internship every single break for the past 4 years because "they don't count as work experience" and a lot of lower level bio jobs say I'm over qualified. If i cant get a job a year after i graduate my only hope is re apply for phd programs. :marseydoomer: !biology

That's just the nature of the field. You need at least a phd to qualify for any serious position, and for routine lab work, a bachelor's is more than enough.

Don't put your masters on the resume. Duh

My masters in CS was massively helpful. My first and current job, I applied to a company's new grad program, which doesn't have such a requirement, but it turns out that out of 41 people in the program, 40 of them had an MS, and the one exception was an intern. I'd likely never have even been considered otherwise.

Ill just reach into my unlimited money bags for another 10 years of schooling. I fricking hate school im done with it I want to study stuff im actually interested in rather then doing busy work which may or may not screw me over based on how the prof is feeling. I dont want to be a fricking doctor. Thats the job i dont want.

Go into nursing, make good money and be on the fast track to promotion because moid. Frick the harem of foids under you and live it up. Or go to law school and hone in on patent law since you need a stem degree for it and almost no lawcel holds a stem degree. Instant 6 figures and you work with neurodivergent sciencels.

Sounds like my little sister who's still in high school. She's interested in biochemistry because it's a health related field but without being a doctor (even our aunt who's a doctor says she never recommends med school to anyone unless they have a vocation for it as it is too time consuming and life-draining). I just hope she picks wisely when the time comes lol.

they don't count as work experience

Haha r-slur

Don't put them as "internships", put them as trainee or remove :marseyklennyreveal: the internship part altogether.

Lab intern for whatever :marseyjerkoffsmile: company? Bamf lab assistant, lab worker. Research intern becomes researcher. BAMF. 3 years experience.

People don't usually call or just look up the person :marseywall: you put as a reference, nobody is gonna :marseyvenn6: camm someone to check :marseyelonpaypig: if you worked with them.

Learn from sexy Indian dudes and fluff out you're cv with keywords. Tailor it too each job; people won't care but machines do.

You worked the summer :marseyweenie: of 2022 and 3 months in 2023 as lab tech? Put 2 years experience in the application.

The recruitment game is all fake, gay and bullshit.

At least at my school, the only prerequisite for the advanced gifted program was an iq test before 1st grade. Its a lot easier to be a smart 1st grader than a smart adult.

I can answer that. It makes fitting into normal society near impossible. There is a 5% chance if I get my shit together at any point in life I will end up getting ahead of 90% of the population but the metrics by which I track how to solve things are completely disconnected from normies so it makes it difficult to work with them or build support systems with other normies around. You have to build up a fake outside human persona or die out. Those are your only two choices.
