It's still kinda shocking to me that browsers don't, by default, blank out the referrer URL when crossing domain boundaries.

I mean I get that Google wants it there and they own 90% of web browsers because a bunch of r-slurs flocked to chrome but surely firefox would do it.

I know there are some brave users here - does brave blank out the referrer URL?

Every time you click a link, your browser tells the new page what page you came from. Which for example allows this famous trolling of HN users, in addition to probably leaking a lot of information to advertisers
