I don't see any usecase for E-Paper screens outside of normal e-readers. Even if this thing had enough battery life to go a month without charging, what would you need that for (and how would it justify not being able to see color)? Longest I've gone without charging my laptop was probably 30 hours of off-and-on use through different planes and airports during layovers.

I've seen them used for information displays at stores. I think it was a best buy.

Its supposedly waaaaaaaay better for your eyes to use E paper screens. Older people can read them more easily too. So i guess it depwnds on what the primary function of the pc is besides, personal preference aside.

Random thought. How sick would a stand alone E paper monitor be for plugging in to any pc?

Great if it worked, but eink/paper/book/whatever the frick generally has pretty bad redraw time, low res and low dpi

Try black and white mode on your devices, you'll discover how much information is signalled through color

They make good signage (quickly and easily changed, no power need to keep the sign running) as long as you don't need HD images or colour

For one thing it would be cheaper for electricity. Redundant battery capacity also means either less needed repairs or more room for other stuff or more powerful CPU. No matter how you spin it, if this saves significant energy this alone would be awesome.
