The point here is that these guys couldn't code on their own, so if they didn't find the solution on Google they just couldn't do it.

Knowing how to google stuff is a useful skill, but it's not a job.

NOOOOO! YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND IT FUNDAMENTALLY AND WRITE A DISSERTATION ABOUT ONE COMMAND BEFORE YOU CAN COPY-PASTE THINGS!!!

Dude doesn't seem to understand that using google as a learning tool is far more efficient that reading books and trying to solve specific problems yourself. He basically equates using google as pure plagiarism.

I think he would enjoy Lisp languages and other academic languages. Computer “”engineers”” are supposed to solve a problem for businesses. If the code serves the business’s needs it’s good code. Pretending like we need code monkeys to make great works of art is delusion.

LISP is quite cool for a dumb university project. But I would not enjoy writing any serious enterprise code on it. Imagine all the brain dead developers writing LISP. What an headache.

That's why I love Java.

I recently learned that you can get lisp to run nearly as fast as C if you take the time to annotate the types your functions operate on.

Most of the time you have to choose performance or convenience before you even start writing, seems neat

That's what I mean, if you want beautiful code - write Lisp.
