If google unironically forces this on every android phone, I'm unironically buying an iPhone as my next phone. Never thought I'd ever say that, unless apple decides to also make that mistake.

Just use an AOSP distro like CalyxOS, GrapheneOS or LineageOS. Companies already load up their "stock" android with a bunch of spyware and bloatware

Last time I did this (a long time ago when Cyanogenmod was the popular custom Android software) some apps would notice the phone was rooted and refuse to load. Is that still a thing? I already have to turn off USB Debugging just to get my bank app to work.
