They got 119 people with brain damage. Tested them and found those who had brain damage on their dlPFC were measurably more religiously fundamentalist than those who had brain damage elsewhere. This contradicted their hypothesis that those who had brain damage on their vmPFC would be the fundamentalists compared to others. Science truly is wonderous.
