The version is determined by the model/checkpoint, all good models virtually are v1.5, most everything on civitai.com is 1.5. The only time you'd have to worry about it is when you download a model for v2.2, I think you have to mess with some stuff in SD to get those to work but I've never used one because they all suck at doing characters
