It depends on the pol and its goal, all Ukrainian made pols goal is to be on such light to get money from the west.
EU officials have similar goals, once they posted that 93% Brussel (city) support Ukraine, such city as Brussel that has around 30-50% Muslims ain't going to vote like this, EU also often post about this city how gay supporting it is while gay community post it as one of least safe city for gays, even your Budapest is more safe for them.
