A lot of the science surrounding this topic is of piss poor quality and consistently concludes exactly as certain very angry members of the transgender community expect it to, because to find otherwise is a death sentence to the institution.

The statements half the wiki rely heavily on authority from institutions that are effectively politically captured, not on sound evidence.

Literally no real data exists on the effectiveness on "conversion therapy". It's just considered unethical to even test it, because 95%+ of people who transition are happy with it, and to take a detour to dee whi could be made happy to be in their own bodies, privledges gender normativity over gender fluidity and is therefore transphobic.

I support people's right to transition if they want to, but I do think trans activists will say that "people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their own bodies" but insist on certain solutions and not really giving the full picture to people making important decisions about their own lives.

Between attempts to outlaw being trans or getting transcare, to restrictive government ID rules, to "no promo homo" laws that attempt to erase trans people from public schools, there are a lot of examples of the government getting all up in their business.

If you take liberalism to mean inclusive economic and political institutions, then there's work to be done there as well.
