Is it worth buying this game for the single player experience? I've heard some people say it isn't worth it if you're solo and no one in my friend group would be interested.

I played multiplayer the first time around but I've been having a lot more fun in my evil solo playthrough tbh. I think it's good either way but I like getting to make any story decision I want without having to run it by the peanut gallery.

There is a pretty big lack of strong class identity. Spore druid basically just became a tanky mage at the end casting spells that you share with other classes. At least sunbeam was pretty efficient for a while.

I found it especially funny that by the time you unlock spore zombies you'll be spending an entire act fighting enemies that you can't resurrect and then by the time you fight zombieable enemies the zombies are gonna be low lvl and not very effective.
At the very end casting 4 upcasted lvl 6 blights every turn combined with an execute killing most enemies in one solid hit if not 2 was sorta fun but aside from access to blight it had nothing to do with my class and everything to do with some cool gear(most isn't) and parasite stuff.
The most interesting thing about the combat is the "immersivesim-like" interactivity with the world but more often than not simple tactics are ever reliable tactics.
