I remember watching gervais in a special like 20 years ago. He talked about being too lazy to go to the bathroom in his tiny apartment and just pissing in the sink after raising up the dirty plates and bowls. Not that I could relate but I know people who absolutely would do that and never confess.

Ricky is one of those people who I think is legitimately talented. The Office and Extras is great, he helped find Karl Pilkington and I heard After Life is good. But heβs also way better when heβs got someone talented to bounce off of like Smerch. Neither of them are particularly funny on their own, i didnt really care for Rickβs stand up or Hello Ladies beyond the rare memorable joke. However I love that despite being a from-the-working-class labor voter he makes other lib comics seethe. Frankie Boyle dedicated some of his special to sneeding about his trans jokes, where the best he could say is βRicky Gervais is a great actor and writer but him calling himself a comedian is political correctness gone madβ. Like the best own he could do is saying the guy is talented. Stewart Lee wrote a piece on the Guardian about how horrible Ricky Gervais was to insult celebs at the Oscars. Keep in mind both these guysβ schtick was saying the n word and r*pe jokes and complaining about conservatives getting offended, but now theyre having to speak for their trans friends in every special because a way more successful Brit is making them dilate

Despite what I said about "punching down" r-slurs, I will also say that the quote in the tweet is also kind of r-slurred. Comedy is entertainment and comedians are literal clowns, this notion of comedians as a high caste of modern day philosophers that Rogan and his acolytes promote is just as r-slurred as the bluehair NKVD.

I believe women are evil and that the gender of the devil is female.
