I honestly don't know why people keep trying this argument. Not only does nobody deny heart disease and obesity, there are active campaigns to fight both of them.
Just because other problems exist doesn't mean you can't take a virus seriously.
It's just way easier to respond to a virus than it is to make people exercise and eat well. Heart disease also kills over many many years, covid will kill you in a week.

Average age of coof death is very high, often above the average life expectancy. I don't see how locking down nations and ruining the lives of young people is a net benefit in the long run. Let alone the economic damage being done, and the rise in suicide rates among the most productive demographics. Most young coof deaths are fatties. The Western diet is the real problem, it should be nuked. Notice how it's mostly old and fat nations topping the death charts, places like Japan and most African nations are doing alright.
Imagine if governments put this kind of effort into rebuilding the Western diet, bringing back forced rigorous exercise in schools, going after the food corporations.

"the people dying are over the age of 50" isn't as convincing an argument you think it is.
Not only because people over 50 are still people, but death isn't the only bad outcome of covid.
Even more r-slurred is covid can amplify pre-existing conditions, including, you guessed it, heart disease.
Like to really drive my point home how r-slurred your arguments are:
It doesn't matter if the only people dying are fat and over 50. That makes up a serious portion of the population.
We can solve the virus a heck quicker than we can solve obesity or heart disease. We have a solution for the virus, we have no real solutions to cure obesity and heart disease within a year.

Can't save people from dying when a third of the population is obese and their lifestyles/diets are so terrible that life expectancy shrinks. It's like curing lung cancer by chasing miracle drugs instead of just quitting smoking. The coof isn't going to be solved, it's going to stay with us and continue mutating just like Influenza (which has been killing 600k+ a year globally for decades). New strands are found every year, always requiring new vaccines. It will never end. Just accept it as part of life. Live healthier and if you find that you are vulnerable then grab yearly vaccines to further reduce the odds of dying. People already do this with Influenza, when was the last time you took a vaccine for it? I haven't had one in decades, because Influenza hardly affects me. If I ever get old though, I'd start taking those seasonal Influenza vaccines again.

So lets get this straight, a vaccine invented by world class researchers that has been taken by over a billion people with minimal side effects is refused and a de-wormer used by a thousand idiots with disastrous side effects is preferred. These people need to seek mental health immediately, their children taken away and any license they have to operate a motor vehicle revoked.
