Downvotes make reddit normies think the majority disagrees with them and it's a way of saying that their comments are WRONG.
Check out the killerkyle sub. We're telling people that Kyle murdered a trans-black hero, they're countering that Kyle was working in self defence (which is upvoted) and then our comments about protecting trans-kangs are downvoted. They're dunking on us.
Downvoting their rational comments sends a message that it's them who are crazy, not us.
