That's a long fkn way from the Telegram sticker pack they're based on. All in like six months, too. The stats page takes a bit to update so this isn't yet reflected. Way to go everyone!
I did not expect failing to commission the shittiest bootleg Marseys I've ever seen to set all of this off, but @Punished-r-slur31 (Kellere) came through shortly thereafter with the first round of substantial in-house Marsey OC. The badges started being a thing in mid-August and it sort of exploded from there. @chiobu joined a few weeks later and is still the #1 Marsey contributor with a whopping 150 of them. Our second most prolific Marsey artist @Dramarama somehow found the site and joined with the express purpose of making Marseys not long after and has since created 131 as well as a huge number of Christmas graphics. @Chapose put together a whole ass alphabet of the things for fun and for the Marsey awarded users to communicate with while they're being punished. Which I'll get around to adding tomorrow finally. Probably. Okay thanks.
Look at these numbers from just the top 10 alone, goddamn:
And let's not forget @Jeffthespammer's classic Marsey movie, the visceral thriller-noir Marsey the Cat Bein All Cute:
tl;dr we now have achieved over 1000 wildly disparate and (mostly) incredibly good derivatives of an orange-patterned cat from a Telegram sticker pack in about half a year. And many of you are so freakishly gifted at drawing this shit it still really blows my mind.
Pictured is the 1000th Marsey uploaded, by @Dramarama. What a happy little brood they are.
Anyway in closing, thanks for all the cats and also if you think about it, Marsey is anthropomorphized (an "anthro" in furspeak) as all get-out and so what you've all been doing is fanart of a furry OC.
Furryhaus über alles.
