Do you honestly believe that a handful of CIA operations and diplomatic policies in the 50's-70's have so deeply influenced an entire culture to such an extent that they no longer have any other identity? You think that centuries upon centuries of history played no part in how modern day Iran came into its current position?

Iran was and still is a lovely place to visit and its people are very smart and caring. The issues plauging Iran then and now have very little to do with Western influences, and that is largely used as an excuse by the current regime to keep their power in place.

About once every 3 months I read an opinion on reddit that isn't completely r-slurred and this is one of those times.
