Interesting. I've been wondering about that.
It was originally ed_butteredtoast who, for the first time I ever saw it, posted the original marseys to drama along with other emojis. At that time I strongly disliked emojis in general, and I used to sperg out occassionally about them.
I then, at that time had done some sleuthing to try to find out where they came from, a telegram "sticker pack" but there wasn't any record I could find of anyone specifically who claimed credit for it.
I can't remember exactly when it was, maybe 3 or 4 years ago.... but it was the original Marseys that softened my heart to emojis.
And it has unironically warmed my heart to see the oddball blossoming of the nice ones here.
