Mayor Wheeler asks member of the Portland Utility Board why opposing rate increases for low income Portlanders is white supremacy. https://t.co/Mzqo46t5ok pic.twitter.com/zetwNv91TX

One fun thing about Portland is that any time you want to do something shitty that you know will piss someone off, you simply need to brand them a racist for getting upset about the shitty thing you did. I do this daily and it's very fun.
Try it with your friends!

I don't really follow Portland stuff, did the Utility Board actually call him a white supremacist or is it that everyone calls him that whenever he tries to do something?

Basically they want to increase the rate 8% every year for basically ever and the funds collected would fund some feel good social agency grift that the two black people that live in Portland might utilize so not wanting that 8% increase is literally racial genocide because reasons.
Nevermind that doing an 8% increase year over year until the end of time on anything, much less fricking water is literally batshit insane. Dont want to pay top dollar to stay alive so Sally SocialJustice can throw Yoga Yodelling Pottery classes for her white but socially conscious gxl pals? Frick you youre racist.

Woke capitalism right there. The whole point is to reap mass profits while using bullshit "social justice programs" as some sort of buffer/justification. For those deep in the woke cult, this might convince them; such as white-collar mashed brain DEI hires/officers, who are able to weaponise victimhood/idpol struggle sessions on normies until they bend the knee.

At least it wouldn't actually immediately end large number sof the city's highest tax paying industries. Look at Chicago's proposed transaction tax.

pizza I legitimately think if you lived in a deep blue city you'd be a republican
I used to be a solid democrat until I moved to Chicago and lived here a few years, this crazy shit is real. For example our new mayor literally referred to the 2020 looting sprees as "reparations", like not some crazy twitter user, the mayor.
On the flip side local republicans do their own crazy shit where they're in charge, so I'm not surprised if someone from one of those areas thinks "frick these people in power they're r-slurred".
