I don't frankly care about personal freedom arguments, or personal freedom in general

I mean this as respectfully as possible, but please keep yourself safe or move to the PRC. :marseyblowkiss:

Why? They already have everything set up. There’s still work to be done in the states.

If you want true personal freedom, buy a lot in the woods and send in your property taxes annually. If you live in my society though, you’ll conform. πŸ’•

I agree with you about vaccine mandates, but not caring for personal freedom at all seems strange to me. Why would you want to live in a society where you have no ability to take individual risks and every person lives predetermined lives like an insect colony?

Because we already do live in an insect colony. People hyper-specialize according to their environment and people die in ways that make you wonder what the point of them being born was.

I think everyone is entitled to their agency within the set of behaviors we determine conducive to collectively surpassing God.

Folks should have the freedom to distract themselves from their inescapable mortality in any way they’d like that doesn’t hasten the demise of others. That’s always been my political philosophy.

Interesting perspective, I'm always curious to learn how other people view the world.

I don't think it's utilitarian to support mandatory covid vaccines. Wouldn't it be of the most benefit to the greatest number of people to let the old, the sickly, and the obese die off? It'd free up good jobs held by old people that refuse to retire, reduce healthcare expenditure, and spare normal people the sight of land whales crammed into spandex on every street of burger land.

You're confusing eugenics (and whatever that sociopathic pragmatism that follows is) with utilitarianism. Utilitarianism views death as the ultimate harm, reduction of death is one of its primary imperatives

Thanks for educating me. I don't know much at all about the various schools of ethics.
