It's a twitter clone (as he claimed) with apparent emphasis on being able to make chats and group chats to talk about things without making tweet storms that clutter everything. He also mentioned once it would be similar to facebook in some way. Possibly when you click their profile it will be much more detailed like facebook?

They do not dominate social media because they're better at anything, they dominate social media because they have a large uneducated base that favors easy to digest smears as opposed to actual information.
