RDRAMA LOVES ANIME! Weekly anime post 62

I spend the last two weeks (re)watching DanMachi, which tbh is one of my favorite fantasy anime. I kinda missed that it got a 4th season, but when I saw 2 weeks ago I decided to rewatch it all before watching season 4. I still like it a lot, I even watched the spinoff this time, I dont think I ever watched it before, and it was okay too. I think season 3 is my favorite, but 1 and 2 are great too.

It was nice that in the new season we see some more dungeon, but the second half of the season felt a bit too foreshadowing towards the ending imo. Also that bell refused to let the elf girl kill that one armed fricker even after he admits to being evil and summoning a monster that killed dozens of adventurers is peak anime good guy cringe. At least that dude still died in the end, but cmon.

When they did those visions as foreshadowing I was kinda hoping that they would take the series in a bit of a darker direction, but so far nothing really came of it (except the bait killing of bell, what a relief that he met that mermaid hoe just prior so she can save him). Maybe in the second part of the season it gets a bit more grim, but I doubt it tbh.

Talking about second part, I hate that they split up what should be one season of a show in two parts instead of just releasing it continuously. Idk it just annoys me.

Chainsaw Man has been really good, even if I think it's moving a bit too fast. I really liked the slower pace of the first episode or two, but we got second best girl Himeno :marseybegging:

I don't know DanMachi is one of your favorites. It's not bad or anything, and I'll keep watching it, but there was never anything that made it stand out to me. It's like comfort food TV, enjoyable but I'm going to forget it a week after watching. The season 3 arc was better than I expected, though.

Ill watch chainsaw man once its finished, I have high expectations cause a friend of mine really hyped the manga.

And DanMatchi is probably quite a bit of nostalgia, but still :marseyblush:

please trust me when i tell you to read the manga first before you watch chainsaw man. the director for the csm anime is inexperienced, literally hates fun in anime, and actively sucks all the fun and soul out of every scene possible. your experience with the otherwise-great series will be a lot worse if you start right with the anime.

To this day I cannot believe a massive plot point for a character in fire punch is how regeneration superpowers means you can't get s*x changing surgery because the biological genitals grow back

i'd really recommend it. the art style may be on the simpler side, but the way everything is visually presented is top notch. you'd also get to see all the silly moments, since the anime is afraid to actually show funny faces for some reason.

Yeah, DanMachi is fun, I don't knock you for liking it.

Report back once you've watched Chainsaw man, it's almost half over already
