This week I (re)watched Classroom of the Elite. I watched the first season about one and a half years ago and liked it a lot, but was pretty mad that it didnt seem like it would ever get a second season considering it aired in 2017, especially with that ending reveal. But then I was very glad to see that a second season will release a few months back, and this week I finally watched it.
I think it was good, at least as good as the first season, probably better, especially the last few episodes. Honestly, this is one of not so many anime that make me consider picking up the light novel. I probably wont cause season three is scheduled for 2023 (
), but it doesnt happen a lot that I even think about it.
Personally I couldnt really think of any anime that is similar to it, but if you can please give me recommendations. Character wise it reminds me of Yahari Ore no Seishun Lovecome wa Machigatte Iru and other shows from that era (I think Saekano was another one), but it goes off in a completely different direction (
subverting expectations)
Anyway, its a great anime and you should watch it, and Im mad that I probably have to wait another year for the next season.

So I was on nyaa grabbing the latest volume of Slime when I saw a LN title that grabbed my attention; Reincarnated as an Apple. And as I saw the cover I knew this was right up my al- I mean this is right up
@Chaphohohose 's and 
@ponyblaze 's alley, I should read it ironically so I can make fun of them. Anyway, I read the first chapter for free on j-novel.club and then read the LN. I'll come back to this later.
As for the Slime volume 15. It's all fights, the entire thing. And I don't know where the line between a common theme and lazy hack copy-paste writing is but the volume sure leans towards the latter. It's the same thing over and over for 120k words
: Everyone in Rimuru's gang gets evenly matched against an enemy, the enemy ask them to surrender, they answer that they'll never betray Rimuru! The enemy then calls Rimuru a Slime which angers his friends and starts the fight. Meanwhile the enemy is thinking to himself, that there is no way he can lose this fight, unless their opponent gets an ultimate ability mid fight. Which they promptly do because this is Slime we are talking about. That's every single fight summed up.
Now back to the Apple story, it's a parody on the Isekai genre and I would say the beginning is a parody on the beginning of Slime. Honestly this LN was more fun than the Slime one, it makes fun of isekai, but also nip corporate structure and gacha games. The author was definitely writing out of real life frustration. It also had 4th wall breaks which I haven't come across before. Anyway, recommended, you could even read it as a one-shot.

The apple thing does indeed sound like something I would watch if they made it into an anime. Maybe even read since there isnt much of it out anyway.
For slime, I watched the first season a few years back, then started to rewatch it when the next season came but never finished, so I also never watched the following seasons. I dont even know why tbh, I didnt dislike it but I guess I just got bored of it.

I was mostly joking about the apple LN but here's a link anyway. I have not read Classroom of the Elite LN so I can't recommend it personally, but I know it's very popular, it's one of the really big sellers in Japan. I say you should read it to try, it's easy to find the epub's for free.
I like the Slime anime but it does have a fairly big focus on battle.
Also, I have to know. did you finish bookworm yet?
