ok, so 01 absorbed the angel and i think 00 but i might be wrong there. so it now has adam and eve and was becoming divine, triggering 3rd impact when it was stopped by the lance from the moon. 3.33 spoilers:everything got super fricked up because of this and people blame shinji
also you actually need to watch the 3.33 trailer, it shows stuff that is in none of the movies that happens between 2.22 and 3.33

actual spoilers for the whole series2.22 happens after EOE, in a cycle that repeats. The lance is still on the Moon from when Asuka threw it through the space angel in NGE

That makes no sense, everything was reset. The red oceans and such in the rebuilds are from that version of 2nd Impact. Also Rei threw the lance in NGE and it returns to earth in EoE, so saying thats why its on the moon in Rebuild makes even less sense.

EoE is a remake of episodes 25+26 of the NGE series which they ran out of time to actually animate in the original run. Just skip them and watch EoE instead. Rebuilds aren’t worth watching unless you really love Eva and really hate yourself.
