PLEASE give me suggestions for rom anime that ISN'T

>99% comedy and the writers forget to add romance until the last episode

Romcom is fine but I know better, romcom is just com most of the time

>wishy-washy will-they-won't-they bullshit where they wait to get together untill the last episode (or in a DVD-only epilogue)

>harem garbage

>their relationship is equivalent to a middle-schooler and they don't even hold hands

>has a depressing or sad ending

Kaguya Sama. Especially if you stick it out to the end of the third season.

Horimiya. Bonus for having a scene where a whamen stops and goes "wait am I being unreasonable"

Quintessential Quintuplets. The entire premise is that he gets with one of them, and the series is about figuring out which one. It's not really harem-y because he's only interested in one of them, and he's also not the typical anime blank slate with zero personality.

Banished from the hero's party is basically entirely comfy slice of life with a cute relationship.

OreGairu is a pretty mature take on romcoms, especially S2 and 3.

OreSuki is more com than rom but it's still enjoyable, and the film is a really good ending to the series.

Thanks, really appreciate it. Really sick of getting suckered into romcoms and coming out of them unfulfilled.

>Quintessential Quintuplets

I hear the anime had a different ending than the manga (though I don't know what it is). Do you recommend one over the other?

The actual content of the ending hasn't changed, but the way they do it is slightly different.

I'd just watch the anime tbh. While the manga does some clever stuff with being in black and white so hair colour is less obvious, the anime handles it fine.
