Yeah this is what I do. I wipe it off on my $5,000 ottoman before I step onto my $30,000 Persian rug

!homeowners do you take off your shoes before walking in your house or do you just wipe them on the designated wiping rug?

I did as a kid sometimes because it felt as rebellious as wearing a baseball cap inside. Then I got older and even a full shower rinse of the outsole feels off. I have never-been-outside trainers now, just like I have slippers.

I just prefer to walk around my house in socks. I love the tactile feeling of it much better for shoes.

Socks on carpet and while lounging: god tier. However I don't have carpet most places (hate the hoovering) so I damper my feet instead of the floor.

Have you ever even tried cleaning the outsole of a shoe after having stepped in shit? (To not be Cali-phobic I emitted the "dog-" part of shit)

To get into the nooks and crannies you either need a pressure washer (particles prob. end up in your face) or a toothbrush (particles prob. hit your sense of smell). Would you touch that sole afterwards? If not, why would you accept that sole touching your carpets?

I just avoid stepping in shit tbh. I might have a few times as a kid, I think I just washed it off?

Of course, yeah, it doesn't really happen anymore thanks to all the doggie bags. But in 1999 you got hit like once every two/three years just walking through grass. Because on the sidewalk it is obvious. Should you be in a location where there's no other thing than "road for cars" and "sidewalk for else" you might not know how shit can hide in the grass
