Weekly Anime Post 95

I hate anime so much it's unreal.

Finished Witch from Mercury S2. It was ok, not as good as Iron-Blooded Orphans but definitely very friendly to gundam virgins. Heck's paradise is over, had some neat ideas but apparently it's being directed by M Night Shamallamadingdong and they had to throw in a twist cliffhanger for S2.

Started Dungeon Meshi and Horimiya, gonna watch Quintuplets too. Very comfy, would recommend - although Horimiya and Quintuplets are short stories from the manga being adapted so the chronology is all over the place and you won't really be able to make sense of it unless you've already seen the main series.

Gonna hold of on Kagejitsu and Mushoku because I prefer to watch the whole season in one go.

Finally started watching Fate with S/N. Eh, it's ok. I've heard Blade Works is better, so I'll get to that at some point.

I've cleaned up my manga list on MAL and read all current chapters of the series I'm still following and here are my thoughts:

• Berserk: It's obvious that it isn't on the same level of quality as it was when Miura was still alive and recent developments are way too fast and seemingly out of nowhere although I unironically prefer it this way. Wrap it up quickly.

• Kaiji 24: This entire iteration of the Kaiji saga is completely useless as nothing ever happens and there is next to no gambling involved. Although I adore the cast and their interactions I fear FKMT will never complete the Kaiji series, and he also has to wrap up Kurosawa somehow. Idk really, hurry up with this Arc as nobody cares about any of this. The recent Endou chapters were quite funny at least.

• CSM: Yeah, I don't know what's going on. I'm rapidly losing interest in this and even Asa (literally me) doesn't bring me any joy. I'm close this dropping this entirely or wait until it's complete.

• Vinland Saga: The tone in this series is all over the place and I think this may be the manga that differs the most in quality across its arcs. I like the current arc and it's pretty fun to see the characters in a new environment but for some reason, I lost all interest in this.

• One Punch Man: Murata has always been a talentless hack and reading this is a chore. Dropping it forever I think.

I'm tired of complaining about series aimed at people half my age so I will stop here. If anyone wants to be my friend () or browse my ratings, here is my account.

Mushoku Tensei S2 is ginna be a work of art

Let’s see I read quite a bit this week.

Freiren at the Funeral: this one is super comfy and I really enjoyed it. I kinda expected it to follow a similar pattern to “To Your Eternity” with Freiren meeting and then outliving her companions but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

My Husband is in the Refrigerator: This is a very good and short horror manga I will not say much about to avoid spoiling it. You should read it, it is good.

Arata Natume’s Getting Married: This one is about a social worker pretending to marry a serial killer to find the location of missing body parts. It’s pretty good and the serial killer does a very good job of being super unnerving.

Idk what the name of this one is but it’s about a woman that marries a big white snake monster. They do frick but asides from that it’s really wholesome and cute and I wonder where the author is gonna go with it.

Dungeon Meshi: I feel like this one has enough of a reputation that I don’t really need to say much about it; it’s very good.

Witch Hat Atelier: After seeing so much hype built up around this I feel very disappointed after reading half of it. Maybe it’s just because I’m so over exposed to both western fantasy and anime but it feels so cliché I really don’t have too much interest in it. The magic is cool but honestly I really don’t care about how it works since it’s supposed to mostly be a conduit for the plot to happen. I’m only half way through though so let’s see if my opinion changes.

Mashle ended, was fun to read. JJK S2 is hopefully peak, and sukuna vs gojo is amazing

I've been sandmaxxing on a beach, at least when it isn't raining.

I'm currently reading the Dungeon of Black Company manga which is solid. Rich capitalist gets isekai'd and force to be a waggie.

Beyond that I am reading the Youjo Senkilight novel. Miles better than the anime or manga, but you do need to like map games.

Watched Oshi No Ko, up to episode 10, one left to go.

I enjoyed it up this point, I hink it's overhyped but good.
