Yellow to 12V supply, black to ground

Hopefully you have a matching socket dangling from your power supply

I don’t . Do I have to buy a new power supply?

Probably. If you have enough unused yellow and black wires hanging out of your power supply you could try to cut the connectors and join the wires directly, but (1) you need to connect wires 1-to-1, can't connect 1 yellow PSU wire to all the yellow graphics card wires and (2) sketch as frick. Maybe they sell an adapter between PSU sockets you do have and the socket you need, I dunno

Can i connect it to external power source?

Bro just buy a new power supply. If you don't have enough cords you're probably going too need more wattage than you have. Trans lives matter and told @Dramamine this

In theory. That power is supposed to be controlled by the motherboard and the motherboard's PSU, so if the motherboard's powered but not the GPU obviously there are issues, and the other way around I don't know if powering the GPU with the motherboard off would be bad. I saw a trick a while back to wire up a second PSU that's controlled in sync, but it starts to seem like more effort than buying the right PSU.

It might, but it's probably being used for something else.

Is this a new PC you're building from scratch or how was your old graphics card plugged in?

My old graphics card didn’t have a power source. This is a Frankenstein monster cobbled together for me.

Had the same issue bought a evea 600 watt psu, but a 500 would work too

Take a second look at that pc and tell me you think it looks like a new pc built from scratch.

Does your power supply have any 8 pin (or 6 pin + 2 pin) connections? If so use them. If not buy a new PSU

Not just amd my dear !codecels this man bought a rx 580, a 2 year card that amd has dropped opencl and rocm support for. That's right, you can't use anything that requires pytorch without massive amounts of fiddling and nothing that require python above 3.8

I know this because I bought the same card for the same reason. At least it plays games alright

I feel you and I literally just got it.

2 years old and amd has already dropped all opencl and rocm support. Fricking bullshit! Shoulda paid double and just got a 1050

that and i hate how hard they try to shove the radeon experience bloatware down your throat. not sure if it's still the case but I remember it being easier to install just the drivers with nvidia, last time I had one

omg the drivers. I'm on Ubuntu and it was almost smart enough out of the box to get the card working, only installed the wrong opencl drivers, so I downloaded the amd install tool and ran it with default options.

Fricking thing installed the wrong drivers entirely! Gave 0 shits about install non-working versions of rocm and opencl, no warning or anything until my card stopped working on reboot. Had to uninstall it all and manually install the right packages.
