One of my big issues with anime (yes I actually have some rational arguments and not just indiscriminate hate) is the sheer density of sexual content that exists for the purpose of sexual gratification. It's not even "these two characters fricked because they love each other" or "kawaii-chan got r*ped by ogres to show how horrible the world is," it's "let's have 10 panty shots and a topless scene of kawaii-chan because why not?"
For a while, the #1 rated show on MyAnimeList was Interspecies Reviewers, a /d/-tier hentai. Weeaboos view pornography as the highest form of their medium.

It made fun of tropes commonly assoviated with porn, fan service amd the fricking prostitution industry. It also relied heavily on western fantast races and made half its jokes around interactions between those races. Racism was a fricking common source of jokes, as was fricking every other ism you can think of. Its stupid, full of fan service, but plays it up for laughs.

If anime had less fan service in it the world would be a better place. There’s a series I like called YuYuYu but I would never recommend it to anyone because of random moments where they gratuitously sexualize these canonically 13 year old girls. I don’t know why the average scrote gets so up in arms when I suggest that there needs to be less fan service because it’s something that really brings the whole medium down.
I’ve been taking a lot of recs from lolcow recently and it’s a good way to screen against that type of shit.
