Korean female DJ and influencer DJ Soda was groped by fans during the Osaka Music Circus Festival on August 3rd, and she detailed the sexual assault on social media the following day.

DJ Soda (real name Hwang So Hee) was shaken up after the incident as she explained that she was trying to get close to fans near the end of her set but was suddenly groped in an unexpected moment of sexual harassment.

She also added while providing images that it wasn't just men who groped her, as a woman also grabbed her chest while laughing.

“This kind of sexual harassment was a first,” she wrote. “I had no choice but to pretend to be calm during the performance, but I was so scared… I don't bare myself to be touched by others.”

Japanese Internet denizens commented on the matter, mostly either expressing their disdain towards Osakans or blaming DJ Soda:

(“The way they're touching was definitely intentional.”

“What a shame, everyone was enjoying the concert. Who knows why they feel the need to touch like that.”

“I was going to say you reap what you sow until seeing that this doesn't happen overseas…”

“I don't think it's like that at festivals overseas.”

“Sexual harassment is Japan's national sport!”

“Osaka, Japan's disgrace.”

“To think that some people will see this and say ‘lucky sukebe' is beyond me.”

“They're getting way too close.”

“That's beyond just sexual harassment. It's a crime. What the f**k are Osakans thinking?”

“Will the police do anything about this?”

“Her fault for dressing like an exhibitionist!”

“Of course, you'd get bit if you stuck your finger in the lion's cage.”

“Takeshima still belongs to Japan tho!”

“The Twitter feminists and Yahoo commenters are going wild over this.”

“The great groping nation of Japan!”

“Koreans are always trouble.”

“Oh, Osaka lol.”

“Osakans are practically Koreans.”

“Well, Osaka does have a bunch of gaijin!”

“I genuinely feel sorry for Soda-san, who was hurt by the sexual harassment by the Japanese. And I'm really, really sorry that they even went as far as pointing out something irrelevant such as her clothing. There are many Japanese who feel ashamed and embarrassed about this. It made me realize how low Japan's morals are. We will change so that incidents like this don't happen.”

“Who?”
