So I finally did it, here are some observations
A lot of people told me to watch only Part l and not to bother with Shippuden but I really wanted to know more about Akatsuki, overall I liked Shippuden a bit more
Shippuden had a nice beginning but after the Pain arc I feel it went a bit downhill, tbh I was already starting to get bored by the time they killed Hidan and Kakuzu, however it got a bit more interesting when the real Madara appeared
The filler, omg the filler, I had heard about Naruto's reputation with filler but I didn't expect it to be that bad, literally half of series seemed to be filler and really boring filler at that. I only remember a few I liked: Kakashi's face (from Part l), the don't laugh at the funeral one, the one with Raiga (I liked his character) and Mecha Naruto, there's probably a few more but I can't remember atm
Is it just me or Kishimoto seemed to like femboys?
I liked Sai and Kaguya and am indifferent to Danzo, they seem to get a lot of hate but I think they all were neat in their own ways
Yamato was great and it sucks how everyone forgot about him after he got kidnaped lmao
The Sharingan was cool at the beginning but then it got a ton of bullshit abilities and it became annoying
Guy should've died instead of Neji
I don't particularly care about pairings but Naruto x Sakura would've made more sense than Naruto x Hinata
I really like Iruka, he's pretty wholesome
I liked Sasuke's development, a lot of people seem to hate him because he comes across as an edgelord but he wasn't really that bad until after he found out the truth
I also like Sakura, she's probably the character that matured the most compared to her child self, it sucks that she didn't get that much relevance after the fight against Sasori. Also I can see why people say Kishimoto doesn't know how to write female characters lmao
My boy Tobirama did nothing wrong! Jk, but it was pretty funny how almost all the characters that caused major problems where Uchihas lmao
Also there's something wrong with Konoha's children, like, excluding the main cast, literally all the kids in the flashbacks were absolute peepees and not only towards Naruto
In general I don't regret watching it but it didn't really meet my expectations, it was okay nonetheless tho I skipped a lot of the filler, I'm not strong enough

The whole series kicked off because Obito was an inkwell who couldn't get over Rin not being into him and being killed during inter-village shenanigans.
After his insane scheming that gets countless innocent people killed he's rewarded by getting to be with Rin in the afterlife who has been “watching over him” the whole time. B-word if you've been watching over him you'd see the numerous war crimes and atrocities he committed in your name.

But yeah I see what you mean lol, I really hate how Rin's only purpose was to be Obito's love interest and getting killed by Kakashi to push Obito to the side of the villain
Tbf the Obito that reunited with her was kid Obito which was more like a symbol of past Obito before being corrupted, I don't really mind anyway because as far as it seems there's no heaven or heck in Naruto so everyone regardless of how shitty they are will go to the same afterlife (the closest thing to heck is probably the Shinigamis' stomach)
But yeah the series had a problem with not properly punishing its villains, another example is Orochimaru, he murdered, enslave and experimented on a ton of people including children, and he was let go with a slap on the wrist basically 🐍

Eh I think the Obito that goes to heaven with Rin is war crime Obito tbh. But like you said it doesn't matter. Also Rin isn't even Obito's love interest, she's into Kakashi and sees Obito as a friend. Apparently his streak of atrocities changed her mind in the end lol.
Orochimaru just getting to roam free is one of the most insane unforgivable things though.
The series really should have just had its scope dialed down instead of turning Naruto and Sasuke into Ninja God Reincarnations, which btw ruins the whole point about making your own destiny when apparently this whole thing was divinely predetermined.

I like Orochimaru as a villain but yeah it's amazing how he got away with all the shit he did, even Sasuke spent some time in jail before they let him go. Funny how Orochimaru was taking L after L throughout all the series and at the end he got that massive W lmao
To be fair their destiny was to fight until one of them was killed by the other but Naruto defied their destiny by not killing Sasuke at the end. Though I agree that the reincarnation thing was unnecessary, especially because I hate the chosen one trope

The part about destiny I'm talking about is being the chosen one the whole time. It's cheap and the main character being outcast despite being the son of the former leader makes 0 sense from a narrative or rational standpoint.

That's blamed on people not knowing he was Minato's son but it baffles me how nobody in the village could put 2 and 2 together to find out who Naruto really was, like, dude looked pretty much like the Fourth Hokage and had his wife's last name lmao, also Hiruzen was supposed to take care of him but it seems he really didn't do much
