I say this as a fan, if you're zoomie or never watch older stuff it will be a slog (not to mention filler, you can skip). It was fricking hype in 2005, the music, designs, excellent first arc, the works. Look at the number of episodes, even after removing filler it's a big ask.
It's also shonen, so if you saw any shonen you saw it already. But if you have free time and disk space, you can give it a go, first few episodes are monster-of-the-week type of deal for some character work. I still think it's a pretty fun story.
