I have liked Under Ninja so far, has a bit of the surrealism that made Dorohedoro so good, but the plot is moving at an absolute snails pace…

Read the manga instead, its one of the best manga ive read in ages and the anime butchered so much of it

I thought it was an original…will do, thanks!

Isekai Ojiisan is only good when it's Sega sperging

Also Undead Unluck is the only good anime this season and looks way better visually then it has any right to, the ghost of shaft lives on

Hyakkano or The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Like You is objectively the best anime ever and you are all legally obligated to watch it.

Any good new anime this season? Apothecary Diaries looks interesting :marseyfluffy:

Jump in the discussion.

Watch The Apothecary Diaries if you're a woman and/or a bottom.

Watch Sousou no Frieren if you respect kino.

Watch Shangri-La Frontier if you're neurodivergent.

Watch The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Love You if you want to fantasize about having the perfect boyfriend.

Watch Pluto if you're old.

Thanks, adding Apothecary Diaries, Frieren, and Pluto to the list :marseynotes:

Watched Pluto episode one with my dad. He really didn't like the 30 minute seemingly random part with north no 2 and I had to convince him that that was the only misstep in an otherwise very good series.

Personally I think this is a fricking stellar adaptation. I've complained in the past about anime just being a shot by shot remake of the manga and man this is doing so well with keeping the same information in while showing unique angles. I do think the episodes should be shorter too. I'd prefer double the episodes with half the time each.

Also I'm helping my :marseyboomer: dad connect with his zoomer audience. I made him watch Chainsaw man (which for some reason he insists on calling Chainsaw Head) and I guess he wowed a whole lot of zoomer new hires by knowing what it was.

Hecko, first time posting in this kind of thread :marseywave2:

Last week I watched Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and Ninja Scroll :marseyvampire: :marseysharingan:

All 3 movies were very entertaining; the first one is classic 80s/budget 90s animation :marseychefkiss:

Bloodlust put on an absolute clinic in aesthetic choice, animation, and world-building, it was seriously a treat :marseyumbreon:

The story was also a somewhat cliché but still fun twist on the stereotypical vampire story :marseydracula:

After cooming to Bloodlust, I immediately googled what else is in the same vein, and constantly saw Ninja scroll, so I watched that too :soyruto:

The animation in Ninja Scroll is incredible, the violence is top-notch, and I would say that the story "does its job"

The plotline with the foid ninja was predictable but enjoyable, and I'm not gonna pretend that poisonous kitty isn't a fun plot device :marseyarbok:

Overall, I would recommend the 80s Vampire Hunter D to OG-animationmaxxers, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust to literally everyone, and Ninja Scroll to everyone that is cool with tiddies and implied/attempted r*pe :marseyteehee:

Watch "wicked city" it's like ninja scroll but a cyberpunk noir with demons. Same director or something.

Yes I am aware of this but thanks for mentioning it :marseyteehee:

It's supposed to be basically a horror hentai or something, I'm down for it but just need to be in the mood for it :marseyfluffy:

Also, frick the downmarseyrs, idk why they downmarseyd you for a legitimate recommendation :marseyshrug: I'm aware that Wicked City is super explicit

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

It's not "super explicit" whatsoever but there are 2 scenes which are comparable to the infamous ninja scroll scene. The fake sequel to NS is far worse.

My sister and I have both been watching Romantic Killer. It's a really funny satire of shoujo anime. (Think shows like Fruits Basket or Ouran Highschool Host Club)

The author you can tell loves the genre but also has fun taking the piss out of it a little. I like it. :marseypopcorntime:

The craziest thing just happened. A third(!) light novel I've read, called I Parry Everything just had an anime adaption announced. That's 3 announcements in like a month! Do you guys realize what that means? Anything I read gets an anime adaption. Amazing. So if there is something you want adapted, just let me know and I'll read it and an anime should be announced soon enough.

is the LN any good?

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Well, it's a gimmick LN so if you like the gimmick it's great and if you don't it's not. The MC is a oblivious country bumpkin(read: idiot) that doesn't know how strong he is, and he keeps fighting enemies that he thinks are weak but are actually really strong. Basically it's just misunderstanding after misunderstanding. The writing shows multiple PoVs for every happening. So we see it from the MC's perspective, then from a third party observers and then maybe the enemy too. So it got too repetitive for me. There were some funny moments for sure but I only got 20 % into volume 2 but that was mostly because it's still being translated. If it had had more volumes released I think I would have read further. But it's not like I regret reading vol 1 or anything.

Helck spent the last like 5 episodes in a flashback, which was really well done.

Still watching the ongoing shows. Mid x Family isn't as good this season but I think it's probably just that the first season had to pack so much in. I'm finding Angel Links to be pretty boring so I'm probably gonna drop it and start either Maria the Virgin Witch or Slayers. IDK what else there is to say this week except Shield Hero sucks now.

I've been watching The Apothecary Diaries this week. One thing I find quite odd about it is that it clearly is meant to appeal to women, yet most of the important female characters have absolutely massive breasts. That is all.

I'm going back to Vinland Saga to finish up S2, I ended the first half, now on to the second.

It's no masterpiece, it has flaws, I know the author seems to be (or is) a big cuck, but I like the characters, I like the setting. I just like it.

Jump in the discussion.

I'll give the author credit for taking a big swing with what happens in season 2, but darn is it boring. I loved the farming parts, but Thorfinn's inner conflict is so repetitive it's maddening. Should have been like 4 episodes shorter. Also there are like 2 real fights in the whole season and they aren't even animated well. It was disappointing for me.

I cried a few times during the first 5 episodes. Not necessarily sad tears, it's just very nostalgic and sweet. Episodes 6-8 have been an insanely well animated battle arc though. Great show.

Glad to hear it. Vivy is very good, but almost no one I recommend it to will watch it. I think they get put off because she's an idol robot, but if they watched the first 5 god darn minutes...

You are 2 years to late to the party :marseyhotep: Nigher you missed all the good threads

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I prefer it this way even if I am late to the parties as I at least don't have to watch all the seasonal nonsense to find the true gems though if I weren't r-slurred I probably could find the good stuff without watching the obviously slice of life anime. I mostly read light novels now which is more suffering but also has better content sometimes

I didnt :marseyfingerwords: like season :marseyautumn2: 1 either but season :marseyautumn: 2 is really :marseythinkorino2: fricking :marseytom: entertaining for some reason. Turns out the moment :marseycringe2: they removed the MC it got good!

I feel like this would be true for every shonen. Not that all shonen would be good, but theyd at least improve.

Whats funny :marseylaughpoundfist: in JJK is that the main character :marseypinocchio2: gets absolutely clowned on all the time. Like the guy has yet to pull through even one arc without dying.
