Hello friends it is me Chapose, as you can see from my profile picture. I know some of you thought I'd been taken by truck-kun and there wouldn't be an anime post this week but I am alive; I just got too into my third rewatch of Kiss x Sis.
It's in such a weird place. It's not bad, but it's not good. There's not quite enough car/vehicle content to make it a vehiclesperg anime and the episodes are all one shots with no continuous plot. When the car chases do happen it's fantastic, especially if you're into 90s japscrap. There's an ep where they swap an 86 v4 RZV 2 stroke into a 60s Subaru r2. Gearhead kino
The soundtrack is a neat little time capsule of 90s Japan, but yeah, it's not catchy or memorable. Def a comfy series I'll watch more of, it's nice that everything is low stakes. The scooter lady is a great character too, cracked up irl a few times.
If they had consistent focus on cars like in the 2nd ep it would be an absolute banger. Shakotan Boogie was just nonstop cars and it ruled.
The trans character is just a typical anime trap, they pass 100% so imo it's just anime being degen as usual.

I think the sound track is its weak area. If it had a solid sound track it'd be remembered like Patlabor
I also think more focus on automotive tism would have been another way of being rembered.
I am finding my watch through is comfy, it fills a nice niche.
Most interesting part is the trans character is handled surprisingly well for an early 90s anime?

Should I give Patlabor a go?

It is one of my favorites. Police mecha.
She only passes to us, the in world characters do see her as a male.
