Turns out all you need to make a "Vidya game world" anime watchable is making it clear that it's all just Vidya game and not have much stakes. Shows like that ate usually watched for cool fights so having an obnoxious story that takes itself seriously ruins it

I’m 100% certain that at least half the mods do not have Faith or the Holy Spirit.

Well, that and the visuals are genuinely great. The Weathermon fight is one of the best duels this year.
I mean, I liked ShanFra, but like 80% for the high tier animation. If it had been average tier there's no way I would have finished it, I can play a video game myself if I want that experience.
Not defending video game style isekai or anything, seeing stats screen in a show is a near insta drop for me nowadays. But not having any stakes or much of a story isn't something that the average anime production can probably pull off.
I liked Bofuri s1 for similar reasons to ShanFra, but I dropped s2 fast when I saw the animation was worse.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to S2. Reminds me of Log Horizon a bit, but I'm glad we moved past the "trapped in a game!" plots

Shangri-la Frontier. Didn't think I'd like it, but I do. Much better than Sword Art Online because I'm still watching it after 3 episodes
