That's the always-elusive industry secret of writing superhero stories (and scifi stories, and fantasy stories, and …)

They put things together however they want to keep the story, plot, actions, emotions etc going the way they want to tell the story they want.

Like … in multiple Star Trek canon shows, movies as well, they'd established that Vulcans aren't inherently logical — that they are secretly emotional beings, and all the logic is due to years of training and practice, as a discipline to overcome their emotions.

The sneak preview just out for Star Trek Strange New Worlds has some of the crew taking a hypo to go undercover as Vulcans, and it makes them aloof and logical and perfect Vulcans in 30 seconds.

Cue a legion of AntiSocial Justice Worriers screeching about how that's not canon and the writers ruined Star Trek forever …

It doesn't matter. The writers write stories to talk about themes and emotions and social issues, not to slot every little detail about hypothetical 24th century medicines
