Following the 2016 election, I was genuinely curious/worried about what was going on with white voters, especially non-college-educated. But I wanted to know what policies or messages could move them. I asked progressive funders and we did a poll and followed by focus groups. This is what I learned:

In short, their motivation is "I hate [women / nonwhites / LGBTQ] and want to be the main character of the world", and they're 100% ignorant of how government & society works
