One of the ways they did that was launder their rhetoric through third parties, like using Trans-Exclusive Radical Feminists (TERFs) to be their mouthpieces for hateful rhetoric, to disguise that it originated from them.

Usually it just contributes to trans people staying closeted. Sometimes it contributes to closeted trans people enacting trans hatred. Sometimes it contributes to transmedicalism.
