Ego death is generally used by people who wigged out on psychadelics. When people say mushrooms or acid can change who you are as a person - it's usually because they experience ego death and it's incredibly humbling. I hope that's what she means because i like that for her.
Otherwise, straight-edged hippies say they achieve it through intense self reflection and meditation and that is just bullshit.
