Context
They used to have quotas for kids of those who were involved with their war for independence in 1971, in colleges and govt jobs I imagine, they were done away with but recently a court reinstated them. The party currently in power is also the party that fought in that war for the most part, the current oppsn were mostly Paki loyalists so there's that angle too.
