I came across this post from /r/aboringdystopia doomering about India. I'm aware your country is extremely hot, I just checked that the absolute minimum registered ever in Mumbai was like 11 C with a mean average of 28 C (I thought winter where I live was mild, and it is when compared with the rest of South Brazil, but at least we still reach 0 C or below a couple of days a year with 10-11 C being the average minimum during the winter months) and heat waves passing 45 C at some regions. Nevertheless, 1.4 billion people live in India as it is blessed with rains during monsoon seasons which nourishes your agriculture. !bharatiya what are your thoughts on these redditors predictions about the future of your country? Is it really that bas?
Radical green revolutions are going to occur when we're all cooking in 48C (117~F) temperatures
nah all the guys with the power to change anything can afford AC
Climate change doesn't affect the rich for the period of time they care. They'll be long dead before they can't put pay it anymore.
Lmao
There's very little we need to give up IMO - we just have to change how we do things. We can keep our nice, well-lit, AC homes - we just need to build them to use natural light and insulation over traditional style. We can keep the ability to get anywhere on the globe quickly - we just need to do it much less. We can keep our always connected phones and computers...actually, we really really should. Repair, reduce, recycle definitely applies here though.
What we'd need to give up on is eating fruits only grown in a different hemisphere and thoughtlessnessly terraforming the landscape to make cookie cutter communities. We need to (mostly) live where we work and stop making crap no one needs.
If we want to start with the main causes of greenhouse gasses, it would be creating actual global accountability for the 100 or so companies that produce 80% of emissions and move their pollution around the world whenever a country regulates them out.
LE 100 COMPANIES CAUSE CLIMATECHANGE
India will turn into Tattooine. They'll live underground and turn to moisture farming.

Within 15 years most homes will be built underground
Countries along the equator will become uninhabitable and mass starvation/heat stroke will wipe out a third of the world's population before the 21st century ends.

His diet is 100% carbs, maybe the occasional egg but def takes 1% recc amount for bodybuilding. But look at those packs Won purely through backbreaking labour, no whey, no AC gym. Probably earns twice or thrice how much the good gyms cost per month. I saw this one guy like this pushing a loaded cart uphill once, veins popping all over his body. Was like a renaissance sculpture.

Bangalore metro seems to cause a lot of drama for enforcing same rules all other metros do. Coding socks and their consequences....
A few months back there was drama about some labourers not being allowed to board metro with literal fricking pickaxes and spades. Neighbors think pickaxes should be allowed into a closed metal tube so poors don't ever have to hear the word no. I meanwhile have not been allowed to board for having with me(totally nonsensical rule ). Delhi metro is priced beyond reach of these people and its so nice I have never heard anyone play music loudly on Delhi metro. Can't say the same about my home city's metro.

Poverty rates may be low but income and wealth inequality is at an all time high. Rich and upper middle class are becoming richer and richer while the gap to poor/middle class/lower middle class is increasing and they are struggling to even life a basic life due to inflation.

Protests are starting in residential colonies across Bengaluru due to water shortage.

This is Shapoorji Parkwest, Central Bengaluru. Apartments in this colony cost at least 1Cr. pic.twitter.com/vfmQrUNaGT
If human society collapsed right now with no records left and a million years later intelligence developed again and they analysed our remains the positioning of Bangalore would remain one of the greatest mysteries. A megalopolis with no water source. You know how there were those random cities Soviets built in the middle of Siberia that were abandoned once fuel subsidies stopped after collapse of USSR cause there was nothing productive they were doing worth living on permafrost for. Turns out capitalism can do the same thing Monsoon is still 2 months minimum away. I wonder what they'll do. Fricking r-slurs. Buying a slice of air for a small fortune where you don't even get piped water.

@RahulGandhi needs to clarify what exactly he means by redistribution of wealth. This has gone viral on WhatsApp groups and has become an issue where fear can be created that your money will be taken away and given for "redistribution." @Jairam_Ramesh kindly clarify what exactly… https://t.co/t7RyNVxg7f
