I don't ever remember seeing this once when I was an netscape-cel in the 90s or early 2000s then after decades of touching grass I come back it's all they talk about. idgi
>inb4 actually I obsessed over this all the time on my obscure forum no cares about in the year 2003

I had a feeling it was random /pol/ hate the jews posting
Is it really only American? I thought it was a protestant thing while catholics don't (thus most of Europe doesn't). Do they not do it in England, Aus or other protestant nations?
Previously, Christians were adamant it was no longer required (Paul is very explicit about it) but there were weirdos in 1900 america that thought it stopped ppl from jerkin it.
Around 2014/2015 is when I remember it ramping up too, and definitely as a reaction to FGM and moids not getting attention anymore. I remember it being spoken about here-and-there online before, but there definitely wasn't a "movement" of any sort.
Mid 20-teens is when the internet got swarmed with astroturfing and bots though, especially burger-based sites before the presidential election, so makes sense we'd notice it then.
I clicked on a link to something awful forums once and it was some r-slur crying about how bread is the real source of cancer or w/e so I never visited again, I just assume everyone there was braindead and non-representative of the population at large
I remember being sent something online about it by a friend in the early aughts sometime. I was just like "Huh. I never thought about that." and carried on.
We're not friends anymore. When we hit our 20s she went polyamorous, got fat, and started lecturing me on how my desire for a monogamous relationship was inherently controlling.

It's immigrants , it's not normal for them . My wife (Latinx) family was mortified that I got our son circumcised. I just thought it was the norm lol

I think it's normal for protestants but not normal for Catholics, which I assume your wife is

Roughly 2015 I think. Maybe a bit earlier.
I think it was partly a reaction to a lot of FGM stuff being in popular discourse.
Also a good /pol/ contingent because da jooz.
Anyways, they're correct, even if largely unhinged. Circumcision is largely an American phenomenon and useless/cosmetic.
Chopping up baby peepees for cosmetic reasons IS weird, and if you think otherwise idk what to tell you.

Austalia and UK it's not that much, something like 20%.
America is around 70%
The highest rates are all middle eastern countries
Yemen, Morocco, Iran and Afghanistan are all 99%. There's a bunch more of them that are 90% +
