Honestly I do feel combat or even just enemy evasion is forced into a lot of games where it doesn't belong. Games where either puzzle solving or the gameplay loop really don't benefit from enemies at all.
Different kind of game I know but imagine if Myst had enemies you had to avoid? Would completely ruin the magic. I'm still unhappy about the angler fish in Outer Wilds.
