I have no nostalgia for my childhood. A lot of my fellow zoomers started jerking off to how good things were on the late 90s/early 00s. That all the music that came out then was better, and that the games that came out were the best.
I hate 2000s media. It makes me think of being a social outcast loser. I'm still one, but at least nobody cares anymore. I hate Minecraft. It makes me remember all the times my friends would play without me.
Is this an !incels thing or just a me thing.

I have some childhood nostalgia but I was always a weirdo outcast, I'm mostly nostalgic for my time in the Boy Scouts. My troop was a special ed troop so there were lots of other weirdo neurodivergents for me to hang out with.

(opinion from f****le so take this with a grain of salt)
it's a you thing possibry
i only had online friends growing up and i fricking loved 1996-2012. i fondly remember staying up all night to play minecraft with my friend who was the gayest twink in england (though he has now experienced twink death and hit the twink wall but i love him all the same). explaining redstone circuits made me feel powerful but watching a drawbridge operate and him freak out over it is a core memory for me
also had runescape friendos whose parents reached out to mine to verify that yes i was also a stupid internet child so my friend could send his kippah from his bar mitzvah in the mail. i used his kippah for a church camp art project where i just took a photo of it on the grass and titled it “underground jew” (it didn't win)
i was homeschooled except for a short period
were you homeschooled?
edit: i reconnected with my minecraft friends in 2020 and did this

I loved being a child tbh. Even back then I knew it wouldn't last forever and never liked those kids in TV shows who tried to act "grown up". I never saw a point in it as, God willing, you'll get there in good time anyway so why rush it?

I fricking hated the Wii. It was the ultimate "your parents' friends' kids are over, so they tell you to go shut up while we get drunk" machine

I like plenty of art/music/literature I saw/heard/read as a child, but I like it in spite of that fact, not because of it.

Even as an neurodivergent weirdo I have lots of good memories from HS
Watching anime all night with friends, D&D marathon sessions, riding bikes around to get slurpees, days and days of vidya in the summer. Good times

No physical ailments and mental decay from aging was nice, even if I didn't appreciate it at the time. I was also kinda less depressed I think, and less jaded.
But today I am more competent, which is pretty cool, even when I painfully think back on all the wasted time. Socially, I might be a bit better off today, mostly because adults don't try to bully you.
