Never because xorg is set up on my machine and I refuse to let the insane level of configuration and bullshit I had to go through go wasted. I have no idea why I’d want a protocol just because it’s newer and more secure despite having worse performance and STILL have to use a compatibility layer to use xorg-dependent applications (anything that uses a GPU pretty much).

I switched to Mac and I get so much work done now compared to when I used arch. It just works.

It took me 1.5 years before everything made sense and was easy and fluid to use. I highly recommend no one use Linux unless it activates their neural dopamine release mechanism within 10 seconds of using it and even then can make it past being extremely frustrated 100s of times until it feels natural. Now it sort of feels like being an electrician/carpenter/whatever with a tool belt instead of a wage in a cage (windows). I use a window manager and Arch (I used to use gentoo for the first year but became lazy and succumbed to soystemd), though, I always gave up on using other OS and desktop environments because it feels like a worse windows instead of really flexing what it can do well, fast, and efficiently.

Soystemd is so obnoxious. It wants to do everything so it conflicts with so many packages. You really have to spend time studying it before trying to use dnsmasq or changing something in network manager. That said, artix blows and gentoo is way too neurodivergent for me. I tried installing it a couple tines but I use zfs and luks on root so it's a massive pain in the butt. You could use openrc on arch if you'd like but it's a bit arduous.

Just install Cygwin/X, everything just works out of the box.
