My dad grew up in a shitty rural village and when he was a kid the village had a pet bear. An old female got into a fight with a male bear and ended up blinded and since she couldn't defend herself any longer she started appearing around the village since other bears would generally avoid humans. People noticed that she was old and harmless and let her alone, and some even started to leave food out for her. She died after a few years presumably because of old age :marseybear:
