The Woke Right wants to destroy capitalism and replace it with a socialistic model called "distributism."

ShoeOnHead (mommy)'s husband responds:
Is this novel to you? Are you just finding out what distributism is? Are you just finding out what Catholics believe?

Why do you congratulate yourself as some learned man, some oracle or public intellectual, when it’s so apparent that you’re in over your head?
You keep trying to make "woke right" a thing 😅

He's spot on. Brazil's last right wing administration was mostly hijacked by the woke right. Not a single government job was cut, Christian evangelics dominated congress, paramilitary groups (ex-cops) had free reign in cities.
Based. We also want to destroy communism and socialism as well.

Woke Right is now part of the Democrats and close to the woke left. Communists dislike both parties.
— MarreAinne🇺🇸 (@knittingspinner) October 7, 2024
seriously wtf is the woke right?????
Distributism is such a marginal econ philosophy that is only taken seriously by a handful of traditional Catholics. Are you figuring this stuff out as you go along? Thats what it feels like. Im an r-slur but you gave zero thought to the parameters of this "woke right" moniker

He still doesn’t know what it means, but as the only party with distributist principles in its platform, we welcome more people finding out for themselves! https://t.co/7noxq4es9i

I fail to understand how distributism is different than the mixed economy policies favored by the average Christian Democrat in Europe, but slightly more redistributive and vaguely gesturing at wholesome small business. To me it all seems like a way to make social conservative, fiscal liberal people sound groundbreaking and contrarian instead of just another one of the four quadrants besides liberals (US terms not Europe), conservatives, and libertarians

Not a thing that is represented by either party anymore in the USA.

TBH those views would slamdunk the Latinx/Catholic vote, it's where the majority of us land.

I'm dismayed at the GOP going down this path. It's over for America.

I just hope AI bots make the internet and especially social media unusable before my future children are old enough to beg me for access to a smart phone.

Agreed. I use a Pi-hole on a Raspberry Pi to block websites from our wifi and have Spyware on all devices. And yes, say no to the smart phone for as long as you can.

I'm just not going to let them have one, if the school system is mandating heavy computer usage still in elementary/middle school we've already agreed to pull them and join a homeschool co-op. I'm less worried about the Godless heathens stamping faith out of my children and more just terrified they'll turn out like the last few generations of depressed, obese, unfocused little monsters.

I'm changing careers when we return to the US to not be a WFHcel and if we have children before that point in time I'll be logging off for good. I did take a break for like half a year on this site, I'm only online so hard because I sit at my desk.

We didn't have a term for this in boomer times. Everyone was like this unless they were a hippie or in the KKK.

It's a meme from the early 20th century when catholic priests were rapidly losing their flock to the communist movement. Sort of like how Liberation Theology is a meme resulting from third world commieshit. Then they flirted with fascism in the 1930s and dropped the whole redistributionist thing, then the cold war happened and they never really bothered reviving it.
